Who We Are

Who We Are:

Established in 2017, Barrhead & Area Regional Crime Coalition (BARCC) is a regional partnership between the County of Barrhead, Town of Barrhead, Woodlands County, Barrhead RCMP, and Barrhead & District Rural Crime Watch Association.  BARCC was formed to address crime in our community, with the purpose of "taking an active role in reducing crime through coordinated efforts in education and awareness of crime prevention."

After the Coalition's creation, BARCC members continued to hear many concerns in our communities regarding growing property crime and lack of organizational communication.  As a result, BARCC partners came together to find tools that could bridge the communication gap between the authorities and public.  In October 2018, the Coalition launched a multi-channel alerting system, BARCC Connect.  Learn more about BARCC Connect here!

In March 2019, BARCC members were asked to present information about the Coalition and its initiatives at the Rural Municipalities of Alberta Convention.  Click here to view the presentation, and learn more about our mission and initiatives.
